Rikki's Travels

Rikki is in Istanbul, Turkey

We had a message from Rikki's new class today. He has been having a very exciting time. Dr Potaka left him with Miss Capun, a grade 3 teacher at the Istanbul International Community School in Turkey. He has been learning to say words in Turkish like
Mer-ha-bah: Hello,
Tesh - ehk-koor-ler: Thankyou,
Loot - fan: Please,
Eh- veht: Yes.
The children in Rikki's class are starting their Summer holidays for the end of their school year next week ane we decided that we would like Rikki to have a holiday in Turkey so he can tell us more about life there. We hope that Miss Capun chooses a student to look after Rikki and take more photos of him on his holiday. Then he could go back into Miss Capun's new class when they go back to school. Viv said she would email Miss Capun and tell her about our plans for Rikki. Maybe they will even add to Riki's blog from Istanbul.

Dr Potaka sent us some photos of Rikki and the other mascots from our syndicate classes. First they were havind a picnic of special tropical fruit and after they they went to sit by the pool. We saw the apartment where they were staying and one of the schools they visited.

Rikki - Off on holidays

We took our mascot Rikki to our favourite places around Central School before Liam handed him over to our Principal. We visited to the front steps, the lovely lime trees at the front of the school, the adventure playground and last of all to our Buddy Class. Our teacher Viv, made a sign with our email address for Rikki to wear around his neck so that his next class could email us and tell us where he is and what he is doing. We are not sure what school Rikki will be going to next but we are looking forward to connecting with his new class and learning about them.

We have a mascot called Rikki. He's a cute, fluffy little kiwi who makes his kiwi call if you press his chest. He is going travelling with Dr Potaka.
